God’s Kingdom In India
BETHLEHEM stands for Serving Orphans, Widows, Educating & Reaching Society. Founded in 1995 by Rev. Appa Rao Veerla, known as Pastor V.A. Rao, this ministry has made significant strides in uplifting communities through its dedicated efforts. It has successfully encouraged local pastors and established support for 30 village churches, creating a powerful network that addresses the needs of orphans and widows. This mission invites believers in India to contribute by nurturing the spiritual growth of orphans, widows, children with special needs, and society at large, reflecting the love and compassionate heart of Jesus Christ.
Supporting Orphans
India is home to millions of orphans, many of whom face severe challenges without proper care, education, and guidance. These vulnerable children are often at risk of exploitation, including child trafficking. BETHLEHEM addresses this critical issue by providing access to education, as well as essential resources for food, shelter, medical care, and overall well-being. Through these efforts, we seek to equip orphans with the tools they need to thrive.
Empowering Widows
In Indian society, widows unfortunately face stigma and are often perceived as bringers of bad luck. This societal attitude can lead to significant barriers in their ability to find work and build meaningful relationships. BETHLEHEM actively supports these women by offering financial assistance for food, rent, medical care, and other crucial needs. Our goal is to empower them, providing not only the practical support they require but also restoring their sense of dignity and worth, honoring them in the way that Christ honored those in need.
Reaching Out To Socitey
The Hindu caste system significantly affects societal dynamics in India, where many Christians belong to the Dalit community, the lowest caste. However, not all Dalits are Christian. Those who adhere to Hinduism often express admiration for the kindness, humility, and service extended to them by Christians. Our native pastors and missionaries are committed to sharing the love of Jesus unconditionally, fostering relationships that transcend social barriers and promote understanding and compassion among all people.
Through these initiatives, BETHLEHEM is making a positive impact on individuals and communities, embodying the spirit of service and love that lies at the heart of the Christian faith.
